Alarms
Residents and businesses with an operating alarm must register your alarm system at AddisonAlarmRegistration.com
If you have a registered alarm systems you are allowed three free false alarm calls before false alarm fees are assessed.
Camera Registration
Through a partnership with Flock Safety, the Addison Police Department encourages residents and businesses to register their security cameras with us. By registering your camera, you are simply letting Detectives know where cameras are located in the event they may be helpful in solving a nearby crime. Your cameras cannot be live-streamed or otherwise accessed by Detectives (or anyone else). However, you may be contacted by APD Detectives if a crime happened nearby and your camera(s) may have captured footage that is helpful to the case.
Close Patrol
The Close Patrol Program is designed to provide peace of mind to residents and businesses when they are on vacation or during periods where they may be more vulnerable than normal. Officers with the Addison Police Department will physically check registered homes or businesses during the period requested to ensure the people at the location and dwellings are secure.
When registering for the Close Patrol Program, vital information will be collected to help officers understand your request and contact you if necessary. This program increases police presence around homes and businesses during times of need or when you are away.
Crime Tips
If you see something, say something! If you spot suspicious activity in town, and don’t know how to report it, you can submit a tip through myAPD. You can submit tips anonymously, if you prefer.
*For emergencies, please call 911… do not request emergency assistance via the crime tip portal.*
Online Police Reports
Do you need a police report, but don’t have time to wait for an officer? Certain types of incidents can be reported online, giving you immediate access to a temporary report number. This is great for circumstances where you need a report for insurance or other administrative purposes, and you need it quickly.
Parking Exemption
Many of our residential neighborhoods have city ordinances governing parking; in some parts of town no parking is permitted on residential streets between 2am-6am, and in other parts of town no on-street parking is allowed at all. But we also understand that sometimes residents may need a temporary exemption from this type of parking enforcement. To accomplish this, the Town provides residents with the ability to request a Parking Exemption, allowing vehicles to park on the street for brief and pre-approved periods of time.
*Exemptions are limited to six (6) requests per year or a total of twenty-one (21) days per year, whichever comes first.*
