False Alarms
The Police Department answers an average of 2,100 alarm calls per year and false alarms account for approximately 95% of these calls, which wastes unnecessary taxpayer dollars and takes police officers and firefighters away from actual emergencies. To prevent unnecessary emergency response to false alarms, Addison adopted an alarm ordinance which requires residents and businesses with a working alarm to register it with the Town.
